Aaron wins MVP!
Deaf Basketball Australia recently held their annual awards night in Deaf Children Victoria school. The night was an opportunity for the basketball players to dress up to the nines and acknowledge the support of people who have contributed to the success of DBA and their effort to send a men and women's team to China. Without the support of Victoria's parent group, DBA has acknowledged that perhaps the China trip would never have happened.
Aaron, a former Sydney Coyote player now based in Brisbane, won the MVP honours for the women. It was a great thing to win, to cap off his captaincy for the men team in China.
"WOW!!!! It was a big shock. I honestlyy didn't expect to win it as everyone on the team gave 110%. Even now when i look at the trophy i have to lean close to it just to remind myself that i actually did win it. I was shocked to win the MVP," says Aaron.
Mark won rookie of the year. Irena won the MVP for the and Ashleigh won the rookie of the year award for the women's team.
